SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) – Repair crews worked overnight, Aug. 25, to put in a new pipe after a water main break caused major problems on Bee Ridge Road. Now, officials are reporting the lingering effects of the break.
The temporary water outage has caused the county to call for a precautionary boil-water advisory until at least Sunday morning, Aug. 28. The boil-water advisory has been issued for an adjacent senior living center, 40 neighbors and 20 business owners.
Timothy Richards, manager of Sarasota County’s Water and Wastewater Division, says the break occurred naturally.
“Due to the age of the pipe it just broke,” Richards said.
