Belleville boil-water alert lifted

Belleville — The boil-water advisory issued Sunday for the city’s residents has been lifted, officials said Monday.
As of noon, the alert has been canceled.
An early Sunday water main break caused a brief road closure on part of Huron River Drive and prompted the advisory.
Water pooled along a stretch of the road, causing traffic to back up and forcing the closure of two blocks of Huron River Drive between Madelon and Clarence streets, according the police.
The city’s water service was shut down at about 4:30 p.m. but restored by 7:30 p.m. Sunday.
