BATON ROUGE, La (LOCAL 33) – Officials in the Iberville Parish Water District No. 3 said customers located on Hwy. 405 from Texas Rd. south to Iberville/Ascension parish line, including all intersecting streets may be experiencing low to no water pressure at this time due to broken line.

Officials said crews are currently working to repair the line, and officials issued a boil advisory for this area.

It is recommended that all consumers disinfect their water before consuming it, making ice, brushing teeth or using it for food preparation or rinsing of food by the following means: Boil water for one (1) full minute in a clean container. The one minute starts after the water has been brought to a rolling boil.

The flat taste can be eliminated by shaking the water in a clean bottle, pouring it from one clean container to another or by adding a small pinch of salt to each quart of water that is boiled, officials said.

Officials said the boil advisory will be lifted upon notification from the Louisiana Department of Health & Hospitals that test samples indicates the water supply is safe.
