MONROE, La (News Release)Update: Thursday, October 20, 2016 at 2:55pm: The boil advisory for Bayou Macon Water System has been lifted.

A boil advisory has been issued for Bayou Macon Water System while repairs are being made to a water main.

The water main is located at Hwy 80 and Cow Bayou Road. This affects only the water system’s customers residing in Madison Parish.

This advisory is in effect until further notice.

It is recommended that all consumers disinfect their water before consuming it (including fountain drinks), making ice, brushing teeth, or using it for food preparation or rinsing of foods by the following means:

+ Boil water for (1) one full minute in a clean container. The one minute starts after the water has been brought to a rolling boil.
