Boil advisory over for West Anderson

A subdivision near Lake Hartwell has gotten the all clear from its water utility to stop boiling tap water.

The West Anderson Water District rescinded its warning to its customers Thursday in the McClain Lake subdivision to boil tap water before consuming it.

The water system had water main break in the area Wednesday, which triggered the advisory for customers to beware until the water was tested and determined to be safe for consumption again.

District officials did not comment further Thursday afternoon, except to say the advisory was purely a precaution.

The subdivision is northwest of S.C. 24 and Whitehall Road, near the Anderson Regional Airport.
