Boil water advisories lifted in Lafourche, Terrebonne

Officials have lifted boil water advisories issued last week for parts of Lafourche and Terrebonne parishes.
Lafourche Parish Water District No.
1 issued an advisory Wednesday, and Terrebonne Parish Consolidated Waterworks District No.
1 followed suit Thursday.
As a precaution, the state Department of Health and Hospitals tested samples.
People throughout the two parishes experienced low to no water pressure in the latter part of the week.
1, said the drop in water pressure probably resulted from too many people running water to try to keep their pipes from freezing.
“We’re steadily getting close to normal, and everybody should be able to pretty much go back to normal usage.” The advisories affected areas throughout Lafourche and the southern parts of Terrebonne.
