Boil water advisory for parts of Amsterdam

Rosanne Rusnica in the City Engineer’s office said the water break occurred Sunday night and the water was back on by Monday.
Rusnica said they may be able to lift the boil water advisory by today.
“The New York State Department of Health requires us to test the water so many times,” she said.
“They have regulations we have to follow.” She said they have to notify the health department when an issue like a water break and the boil water advisory occurs.
If the test is good then the boil water advisory will be lifted.
She said a notice will be sent out when the boil water advisory is lifted.
Rusnica said the water break was due to an old pipe.
“Old pipes have a tendency to break,” Rusnica said.
Residents in the following areas under the boil water advisory are: ∫ Market Street from Main Street to Guy Park Avenue Extension ∫ Division Street from Route 30S to Market Street ∫ The entire Southside of Amsterdam (not including town of Florida residents, upper Broadway Extension, Queen Anne Road, Windswept Drive and Windswept Drive East) ∫ Church Street ∫ All areas southeast of Church Street within the City of Amsterdam limits If any residents have questions, they can contact Rosanne Rusnica in the City Engineer’s office at (518) 841-4301.
