SCOTT – Residents in the town of Scott are being advised to boil water following a valve failure Thursday afternoon.
Those using municipal water north of Van Lanen Road should begin boiling water or use bottled water, the town said.
The Scott Municipal Utility (SMU) issued the boiling notice after a water main/valve failed.
The valve has been repaired and samples of water are being taken.
The boil order is a precaution, but residents in the affected area should boil water until further notice, the release said.
