Boil water advisory in Alexandria

ALEXANDRIA, VA – Virginia American Water has issued a precautionary boil water advisory for customers living near the South Van Dorn/Edsall Road intersection of Alexandria. The advisory follows a water-main break that occurred yesterday along Edsall Road.
Customers are asked to fully boil water used for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, bathing and food preparation for a minimum of one minute, then cool before use. Boiling kills bacteria and other organisms that may be present in the water.
DCW50 will keep you updated on the status of the advisory.
