Boil Water Advisory in place for Ashcroft
ASHCROFT — The community of Ashcroft is now under a boil water advisory, thanks to the storms yesterday.
In a news release, Chief Administrative Officer Michelle Allen says the current water quality is poor because of increased turbidity, caused by the heavy rainfall and mudslides yesterday.
She says the notice will stay in place until the water clears, and that could take at least a couple of days.
With the increased turbidity, newborns, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems can be compromised.
Allen says the advisory is a precautionary measure at this time to ensure the public is protected.
