Boil Water Advisory issued for Lehigh Acres

LEHIGH ACRES, Fla. – A Precautionary Boil Water Notice Advisory has been issued to Lehigh Acres Utility System customers, Thursday.
The advisory took effect at 5:00 p.m.
According to the Florida Governmental Utility Authority (FGUA), a private contractor performing a directional drill struck a 12-inch water main on Homestead Road and Manhattan Street.
Approximately 300 customers have been affected along Homestead Road, S. of Milwaukee Boulevard, Parkdale Boulevard and all of the Blackstone subdivision.
Repair crews are on site and services are expected to be reported by 9:00 p.m., FGUA said.
In the meantime, the FGUA advises that all water used for drinking or cooking be boiled for a period of one minute.
Bottled water may be used as am alternative.
