Boil water advisory issued for New Hartford, S. Utica
A boil water advisory has been issued for parts of Utica and New Hartford following a water main break Thursday near the intersection of Pleasant Street and Tilden Avenue in Utica, according to the Mohawk Valley Water Authority.
The boil water advisory will be in effect for roughly 48 hours after service is restored and until laboratory testing confirms it can be lifted.
It affects customers on the following streets: Albany Street from South Park Drive to Broackway Road; Beckwith Circle, Bedford Lane, Birchwood Lane, Buckley Road, Candlewood Lane, Carmen Lane, Christensen Road, East Park Court, East Park Road, Floral Court, Floral Drive, Graffenburg Road from Slaytonbush Lane to #1354, Hills Drive, Hillside Road, Line Road, Nob Road, Parkview Road, Pinnacle Drive, Pleasant Street from #1104 Pleasant Street to Graffenburg Road, Pond Lane, Portal Road, Proctor View Court, Proctor View Drive, Ripley Road, Rolling Hills Drive, Russetbush Road, Sherman Drive from Pleasant Street to #1710, Slaytonbush Lane, South Park Drive, Sunflower Circle, Sylvan Glen Road, Taber Drive, Taber Road from Tilden to #15 Taber Road, Taber Road West, Tilden Avenue from South Park Drive to Taber Road, Tilden Lane, Ty Place, White Birch Road, Wildflower Circle and Wildwood Ridge.
Customers are advised to boil their water for at least two minutes before using it for drinking or cooking, and to avoid drinking or washing clothes in discolored water.
