A precautionary boil-water notice has been issued for a Fort Lauderdale neighborhood following repairs that were made to a water service line.

The repairs of the water line located at 3140 Northwest 69th Street temporarily interrupted water service to a portion of the Palm Aire Village West neighborhood, city officials said Sunday. Water service has since been restored, but the city, in consultation with the health department in Broward County, issued a precautionary boil water notice.

The boundaries for the advisory are West McNab Road to the north; Northwest 31st Avenue to the east; Northwest 62nd Street/Cypress Creek Road to the south and Northwest 35th Avenue to the west.

Residents are advised that all water used for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth or washing dishes be boiled. A rolling boil of one minute is sufficient. As an alternative, bottled water may be used

The precautionary boil-water notice will be in effect until bacteriological surveys show that the water is safe to drink.
