St. Helena Island – Residents of St. Helena Island in South Carolina are under a precautionary boil-water advisory.

Officials with the Beaufort-Jasper Water and Sewer Authority said Saturday that the advisory was issued because of low water pressure caused by Hurricane Matthew.

Residents are advised to disinfect their water before consumption by boiling it for at least one minute in a clean container. The water must be brought to a rolling boil, then the minute starts.
