A boil water advisory has been issued for Williamsburg, Florence, and Clarendon Counties Saturday morning for customers of Barrineau Public Utilities.

The officer manager there, Sandra Floyd, said lightning had struck a pump overnight. It caused a loss of pressure which could lead to contaminated water.

She said everything was back up and running by Saturday morning. All customer should have water, but are urged to boil drinking and cooking water for at least one minute prior to consumption.

We will update this story once the advisory is lifted.
