Boil water advisory issued in town of Melville

ST. LANDRY PARISH, LA. (KLFY) UPDATE: The town of Melville has issued a system wide boil advisory.  The system suffered a loss of pressure due to a power outage during the storm Saturday night however this issue has been resolved.
Therefore, as a precaution, the Town of Melville water system is issuing a boil advisory effective immediately.
This boil advisory is to remain in effect until rescinded by the town of Melville.
It is recommended that all customers disinfect their water before consuming it (including fountain drinks) making ice, brushing teeth, or using it for food prep or rinsing of foods.
BOIL WATER FOR ONE (1) FULL MINUTE IN A CLEAN CONTAINER. THE ONE MINUTE STARTS AFTER THE WATER HAS BEEN BROUGHT TO A FULL ROLLING BOIL. (THE FLAT TASTE CAN BE ELIMINATED BY SHAKING THE WATER IN A CLEAN BOTTLE, POURING IT FROM CLEAN CONTAINER TO ANOTHER, OR BY ADDING A SMALL PINCH OF SALT TO EACH QUART OF WATER THAT IS BOILED.)
ORIGINAL: A boil advisory has been issued for the entire town of Melville due to a recent power outage and low water pressure.
Lisa Mudge, a town hall official, says the advisory will remain in effect until further notice.
A recent storm knocked out power over 300 residents across the Melville are. Mudge says utility officials are working to restore services as quickly as possible.
