Boil water advisory lifted for Gatewood area

originally posted on January 27, 2017

West Virginia American Water has lifted a precautionary boil water advisory for customers in the Gatewood area of the company’s New River system in Fayette County.

The advisory was issued Wednesday for Elverton Road, Brown Road, Fox Lane, Riner Dairy Road, Pleasant View Drive and Bennett Lane following a water main break, which crews have repaired.

Results of water quality testing have confirmed that water quality meets drinking water standards. Therefore, there is no further need to boil water prior to consumption. Customers will be notified of the lifting of advisory by the CodeRED emergency customer notification system.

West Virginia American Water thanks its customers for their patience and cooperation during the event. Customers are encouraged to share this information with other WVAW customers in the affected area.
