OKATIE, S.C. (WCBD) – Beaufort Jasper Water and Sewer Authority and South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control announced that samples taken yesterday show that the water on Lemon Island is free from bacteria and is safe for human consumption.
The boil advisory for Lemon Island is now suspended.
The precautionary advisory to boil water used for drinking or cooking was issued because of loss of water pressure due to a brief power outage to the high service pumps.
