Carl Junction boil advisory lifted

CARL JUNCTION, Mo.— The city of Carl Junction has lifted the boil advisory for the Oscie Ora Acres and Dogwood Trails areas.
The boil advisory had been in effect since Tuesday because of a water main break on Gum Road.
City Administrator Steve Lawver said Thursday that bacteria samples sent to the Missouri Department of Natural Resources came back clean.
The water line has also been repaired.
"We had to put a valve in it," Lawver said.
"My understanding from what the guys have told me is that the main break was in a Jasper County rural water line that is in the same area."
Lawver said he believes the older line, which was not encased in any bedding material, had broken due to movement underground.
