Beachside boil water notice lifted

Melbourne utility officials announced Wednesday the end of the precautionary boil water advisory for Satellite Beach, Indian Harbour Beach and other beachside communities.
The notice was issued Sunday after the water main break near Burns Boulevard and Bay Drive.
The area for the boil notice extended from Wallace Avenue and the Pineda Causeway.
Two days of sample tests showed the water is safe to drink.

Rose Hill issues water advisory

(WTOK) – Rose Hill Water Association issued a precautionary Boil Water Notice Wednesday due to a break in a main line.
The utility says all customers on County Road 20, Highway 503 and all adjoining roads are affected.
•Cook with tap water ONLY if food is boiled for at least one minute.
Using your home dishwasher is not recommended.
•Brush your teeth with boiled or bottled water.
•Wash your hands and bathe as usual.
Bathing is safe as long as no water is swallowed.
•Wash laundry as usual.
Disinfecting Water •Bring water to a rolling boil for 1 minute to kill most organisms.
•If you cannot boil your water, mix eight drops (1/8 teaspoon) of unscented, ordinary household chlorine bleach (5.25 percent sodium hypochlorite) per gallon of water.

Part of Oriskany under boil water advisory

Part of the village of Oriskany is under a boil water advisory.
Mohawk Valley Water Authority crews repaired a water main break at Utica Street and Ridge Road, but the authority issued the boil water advisory as a result of the break.
It covers residents in the area of: • Utica Street (between Hillside Drive and Ridge Road) • Ridge Road • Hillside Drive • Sunray Terrace • Husted Drive • Ceral Lane • Spillway Drive After the restoration of service, the advisory will remain in effect for at least 48 hours or until tests show that the water is free of contamination.
Water should be boiled for at least two minutes before drinking or cooking.
The authority also offered this advice to residents: Don’t use water that appears cloudy or discolored, especially hot water to avoid drawing more water into the hot water tank.
The tank will have to be flushed once clear water is available.
Don’t wash clothes in discolored water.

Boil water advisory issued for section of Oriskany

ORISKANY – A boil water advisory has been issued for a section of Oriskany following a water main break.
Mohawk Valley Water Authority officials say maintenance crews have repaired a water main break near Utica Street and Ridge Road in the village of Oriskany, and now a boil water advisory is in effect for that area.
Customers on the following streets are under a boil water advisory: – Utica Street (between Hillside Drive and Ridge Road) – Ridge Road – Hillside Drive – Sunray Terrace – Husted Drive – Ceral Lane – Spillway Drive The boil water advisory will be in effect for at least 48 hours, or until tests show the water is free from contamination, according to MVWA officials.
Affected customers are advised to boil their water for at least two minutes before using it for drinking or cooking.
They’re also advised against using cloudy or discolored water, especially hot water.
Customers should also avoid washing their clothes because they could become permanently stained.

Boil water advisory for parts of Amsterdam

Rosanne Rusnica in the City Engineer’s office said the water break occurred Sunday night and the water was back on by Monday.
Rusnica said they may be able to lift the boil water advisory by today.
“The New York State Department of Health requires us to test the water so many times,” she said.
“They have regulations we have to follow.” She said they have to notify the health department when an issue like a water break and the boil water advisory occurs.
If the test is good then the boil water advisory will be lifted.
She said a notice will be sent out when the boil water advisory is lifted.
Rusnica said the water break was due to an old pipe.
“Old pipes have a tendency to break,” Rusnica said.

14-year drinking water advisory finally lifted in remote First Nation

SLATE FALLS FIRST NATION, Ont.
— A longstanding drinking-water advisory for residents of northwestern Ontario’s Slate Falls First Nation is finally over.
Over the past 14 years, community members have been told to boil their water before consuming it.
On Monday, Chief Lorraine Crane and Indigenous Services Minister Jane Philpott announced the advisory had been lifted following the completion of a new water treatment plant.
The federally-funded plant cost $11.6 million.
In addition to providing safe water, the new system enhances fire protection capacity through the installation of additional fire hydrants and pumps.
Crane said Slate Falls First Nation residents are "excited to finally be able to drink water right from the tap" and are looking forward to not having to buy water or boil it.
Slate Falls is located about 120 kilometres north of Sioux Lookout.

West Virginia American Water has issued a boil-water advisory for about 20 customers on East Dupont Avenue from 4th Street to East 10th Street in Belle.
The advisory follows a water main break.
Mingo County Public Service District has issued a boil-water advisory for water customers from Maher Crossing to Spicewood Branch in Chattaroy.
The advisory follows a water main break.
Fort Gay Water has issued a boil-water advisory for entire water system.
The advisory follows flood at lift station.
Customers in these areas should boil their water for at least one full minute prior to use until further notice.
West Virginia American Water has lifted the boil-water advisory issued for customers on the 5100 block of Heather Place in Cross Lanes.
Town of Mason Water Department has lifted the boil-water advisory issued on Feb. 5 for its water customers.

Boil advisory issued for parts of Henderson Co.

HENDERSON, Ky. — The Henderson County Water District issued a boil advisory early Tuesday evening for parts of Henderson County.
The advisory is due to a water main that had broken and was replaced.
The affected area includes addresses from 10558 to 10743 on U.S. 41 South, 3750 to 3841 on Old Robards Road, 9372 to 9866 Hwy.
136 East, 9057 to 9340 Anthoston Frog Island and 2955 to 2715 Toy-Anthoston Road.
Residents are advised to boil water for at least 5 minutes before using.
If you have cloudy or discolored water, it is recommended to run several cold water faucets for several minutes until the water becomes clear.

Hooks under water boil advisory

Due to a water main break, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality has required the City of Hooks public water system to notify all customers to boil their water prior to consumption (e.g., washing hands/face, brushing teeth, drinking, etc).
Children, seniors, and persons with weakened immune systems are particularly vulnerable to harmful bacteria, and all customers should follow these directions).
To ensure destruction of all harmful bacteria and other microbes, water for drinking, cooking, and ice making should be boiled and cooled prior to use for drinking water or human consumption purposes.
The water should be brought to a vigorous rolling boil and then boiled for two minutes.
In lieu of boiling, individuals may purchase bottled water or obtain water from some other suitable source for drinking water or human consumption purposes.
When it is no longer necessary to boil the water, the public water system officials will notify customers that the water is safe for drinking water or human consumption purposes.
Once the boil water notice is no longer in effect, the public water system will issue a notice to customers that rescinds the boil water notice in a manner similar to this notice.

Officials said this should only take a few minutes.
