Callaway 2 Water District issues boil advisory

Due to a water main break, a voluntary boil advisory has been issued for some customers of Callaway 2 Water District.
Those affected are in the following areas: * Part of State Route D between State Route O and Highway 94, * County Road 4053 * Highway 94 and all roads in the town of Portland.
The boil advisory will remain in effect until 2 p.m. on Wednesday.
To be on the safe side, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control, during a boil advisory, tap water used for drinking should be boiled first.
Water for pets should also be boiled.
Bottled or boiled water should be used when brushing teeth or preparing baby formula.
Avoid swallowing water while bathing or showering.
When cooking, make sure to bring water to a boil for a minute before adding ingredients.

Boil-water notice issued for North Mississippi town, canceled

OXFORD, Miss.
– According to the City of Oxford, the water boil notice has been canceled.

This notice includes those outside of city limits.
The notice is following a water main break near Highway 6.
The City of Oxford Water System said this does not affect the University of Mississippi or other private water associations.
The advisory is not expected to be lifted until Tuesday.

Boil water advisory affecting 100 customers in Rankin County

RANKIN COUNTY, MS (Mississippi News Now) – The Rankin County Emergency Management has issued an boil water advisory for 100 customers living on Cedar Hill Drive, Trace Drive, Ridge Crest Drive, Cedar Brook Drive and Cedar Ridge Boulevard.
The customers who are affected are served by the Greenfield Water Association water supply.
All customers are advised to boil their drinking water until adequate pressure is restored to the system.
Water should be brought to a rolling boil for one minute for the following: cooking or baking, making ice cubes, taking medication, brushing teeth, washing food, mixing baby formula or food, mixing juices or drinks feeding pets, washing dishes and all other consumption.
Customers are advised to boil water rapidly for one minute before consumption.

Due to a water outage, water distributed to Centerville Water Systems customers may be contaminated.
Residents have been told they need to strain the water through a clean cloth to remove any sediment.
The water should then be heated to a “vigorous boil” for one minute to ensure disinfection.
This should be done for water used for drinking or food preparation.

Boil Water Advisories Issued For Flooded Ky Counties

KNOX COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18/Mountain Advocate Newspaper) – The Knox County Utility Commission has issued a boil water advisory for all customers in Knox County due flooding.
They posted on their Facebook page that the areas impacted include Artemus, Himyar, Bimble, Flat Lick and Stinking Creek.
The Mountain Advocate Newspaper is reporting severe flooding that is wreaking havoc on the area has washed out several water lines.
Reportedly when that happens, they are required to issue a boil water advisory in case there is a slight chance of contamination.
People in those affected areas are urged to bring water to a rolling boil for 3 minutes before drinking.
The advisory is in effect until further notice.
The newspaper also reported that Barbourville is not included in the warning.
The Morgan County Water District further north has also issued a Boil Water Advisory due to a line break on Highway 1162.
The West Liberty Morgan County E 9-11 posted on their Facebook page that this advisory impacts residents on Highway 1162 until further notice.

Boil Water Advisory issued for Knox County

KNOX COUNTY, Ky. (WYMT) – A Boil Water Advisory is being issued by the Knox County Utility Commission for all customers in Knox County.
The advisory is being issued due to severe flooding washing out several water lines.
People in Artemus, Himyar, Bimble, Flatlick and Stinking Creek should boil their drinking water for at least three minutes at a rolling boil.
Another announcement will be sent out when the advisory is lifted.

Boil alert for city of Oxford cancelled

Oxford, Miss.
— The boil alert for the city of Oxford has been cancelled.
According to a tweet from the City of Oxford Twitter account, the water is clean and safe to drink.
According to the State Department’s website, the alert came after a waterline break was reported in the city’s public water system.
Example: 1 faucet — run for 10 minutes 2 faucets — run both for 5 minutes 3 faucets — run each for 3-4 minutes Flush any faucet a minimum of 2 minutes to ensure clearing of the line serving the faucet.
Discard any drinks, ice, food, etc, made during the boil water notice.
Rewash any food or drink contact items (knives, forks, plates, etc.)
with cleared system water.
Do not use water from your hot water heater for drinking until several exchanges of the tank have occurred.

KNOX COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) The Knox County Utility Commission has issued a system-wide boil water advisory for its water customers.
They say that flooding has washed out several water lines in the county.
They say there is a slight chance of contamination due to the loss of pressure.
This includes the Artemus, Himyar, Bimble, Flat Lick and Stinking Creek areas.
If you get water from Barbourville Utilities, you are not affected.
