Boil Water Advisory issued for Lehigh Acres

LEHIGH ACRES, Fla. – A Precautionary Boil Water Notice Advisory has been issued to Lehigh Acres Utility System customers, Thursday.
The advisory took effect at 5:00 p.m.
According to the Florida Governmental Utility Authority (FGUA), a private contractor performing a directional drill struck a 12-inch water main on Homestead Road and Manhattan Street.
Approximately 300 customers have been affected along Homestead Road, S. of Milwaukee Boulevard, Parkdale Boulevard and all of the Blackstone subdivision.
Repair crews are on site and services are expected to be reported by 9:00 p.m., FGUA said.
In the meantime, the FGUA advises that all water used for drinking or cooking be boiled for a period of one minute.
Bottled water may be used as am alternative.

Boil water advisory lifted after repair work in Kendall Avenue area

KALAMAZOO, MI — Residents of the Kendall Avenue area just west of the Western Michigan University campus can take pots of water off their stoves.
A boiled water advisory for the area, which has no less than eight residential complexes, has been lifted.
The precautionary boil water advisory was issued Monday and was lifted at 3 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 8, by the city of Kalamazoo, working in cooperation with the Kalamazoo County Health and Community Services Department.
The measure was taken after scheduled repairs in the water system infrastructure were made, starting at 8 a.m. on Feb. 5.
"Citizens in the affected area can now use city water for consumption as well as all other purposes," according to a press release by the Kalamazoo Department of Public Services.
"Bacteriological sampling within the affected area verified that the water is safe to drink."
The affected area includes: -Kendall Avenue – Between Santos Avenue (northern boundary) and Howard Street (southern boundary), both sides of street; -Santos Avenue – Between Solon Street (western boundary) and Kendall Avenue (Eastern boundary), both sides of street; -Cherry Hill Street – From Santos Avenue (northern boundary) to south end of street.
The area includes the: Santos Hill Townhomes; Kendall Ridge North Townhomes; Hillside Village; Kendall Ridge; Kendall Manor Apartments; Mansard House Apartments; Kendall Village Townhomes; White Hall Apartments; and the Latvian Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Boil water advisory issued for Mangonia Park

MANGONIA PARK, Fla. (CBS12) — Utility customers in the city of Mangonia Park are under another boil water advisory.
There was a boil water notice issued last week.
It was lifted earlier this week.
According to town manager Ken Metcalf, Mangonia Park had to re-issue the boil water notice because not enough water samples were taken.
A water pipe broke which caused the water pressure to fall below the regulated service level at the Water Treatment Plant in Mangonia Park.
All water used for drinking, cooking, ice, brushing teeth or washing dishes should be boiled for one minute.
People are also asked to use bottled water.
The advisory will remain in effect until a survey shows the water is safe to drink.

UPDATE: Boil-water advisory lifted for Windsor Hills area of Lynchburg

UPDATE: A problem with drinking water in the Windsor Hill area has been corrected, and residents no longer need to boil drinking water, the city’s Department of Water Resources said Thursday.
Residents of Yorkshire Circle, Nottingham Circle, Cornwallis Drive and Chesterfield Place had been asked to boil water or use bottled water after a line break was discovered Monday morning.
Any residents with questions are asked to call Lynchburg Water Resources at (434) 455-4250.

In order to address the break, the Lynchburg Department of Water Resources must shut off the water to the neighborhood so the section of pipe can be replaced.
The repairs are expected to be completed in approximately six hours and water will then be turned back on, according to Water Resources Spokesperson Jes Gearing.
The boil advisory will last 48 hours.
Residents of Yorkshire Circle, Nottingham Circle, Cornwallis Drive and Chesterfield Place should boil or use bottled water for drinking, food preparation or ice preparation until further notice, according to the city press release on the advisory.
The break was initially discovered by crews around 8 a.m. Monday morning.
According to Gearing, there is no construction in the area and the break is likely due to the fluctuation in temperatures between above and below freezing.

Boil water advisory for small area of Elkhart

ELKHART, Ind.
— A portion of the city of Elkhart is under a boil water advisory due to a water main break.
The affected areas include Superior Street from Alfred to Bank Street and Crescent Street to Jackson.
Those affected residents will receive a tag on their door, according to the City of Elkhart Public Works and Utilities.
The boil water advisory is expected to last through Friday.
Residents will be notified by a tag on their door when the advisory is lifted.

Iowa American lifts precautionary boil advisory in Cliinton

Iowa American has lifted the precautionary boil advisory in its Clinton district.
Water-quality tests have confirmed that the water continues to meet U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Safe Drinking Water Act and Iowa Department of Natural Resources regulations, so customers do not need to boil water before drinking or cooking.
The advisory was the result of a 16-inch water main break that happened Monday in the 1400 block of 13th Avenue South in Clinton that had an impact on the entire community.
Clinton customers were notified of the advisory lift via the company’s automated CodeRED customer notification system.

BREAKING: Boil filtered water advisory issued for 2 Flint buildi – WNEM TV 5

A precautionary boil filtered water advisory has been issued for two buildings in downtown Flint.
This after a water main break happened in the area of Second Street between Saginaw and Harrison Streets.
Flint utility customers that are impacted include the Ferris Wheel Building and the Dryden Building on Saginaw Street.
The city will provide an update when customers in the affected are no longer advised to boil their filtered water prior to use.

Boil Water Advisory For West Columbia Neighborhoods

West Columbia, SC (WLTX) A boil water advisory has been issued for West Columbia.
According to a press release sent out, a contractor working in the area struck a water line causing a disruption in service.
Here are the areas for the advisory: Once water is restored, water customers in these areas who have lost water pressure or who experience cloudy water or sediment in the water are advised to vigorously boil their water for at least one full minute before drinking or cooking Also any ice made from water that has not been boiled should not be used for drinking.

Raintree Elementary still closed because of water main break

Raintree Elementary will remained closed on Thursday, February 8th as a result of an interruption to all water service by the City of Baldwin, a spokeswoman for the St. Landry Parish School System says.
As we reported this morning, a burst water main forced a boil advisory for the Town of Baldwin, as well as the closure of the school today.
It’s the only school affected, officials say.
