Traffic alert issued after water main break on Carolina Beach Road
A water main break has caused a lane of Carolina Beach Road to close on Tuesday night.
Cape Fear Public Utility Authority crews are conducting an emergency water main repair in the 4900 block of Carolina Beach Road.
The southbound turn lane into the 4900 block of Carolina Beach Road is closed with no right turns onto Silver Lake Road.
Repair work is expected to last six hours.
There is no boil water advisory associated with this water main break.
Drivers are asked to use caution when driving in this location.

Shen crews repair New Year’s Eve water main break
(Shenandoah) — This stretch of extreme cold weather isn’t doing infrastructure in KMAland any favors.
Eight residences in Clarinda were impacted by a broken water main near the intersection of Logan Court and Eiler Lane Monday morning.
While city crews made the repairs, a boil advisory was issued for the houses affected on Logan Court until further notice.
Shenandoah city crews also began 2018 by repairing a water main break near the intersection of U.S. Highway 59 and West Valley Avenue.
Davey attributes the broken main to sub-zero temperatures.
Davey says the age of the city’s infrastructure is another concern.
That why he recommends a few steps to protect your pipes from the cold.
"They can protect their personal piping, as well," said Davey.
"You can sometimes have a faucet drip to help keep the water flowing, so they don’t freeze up, and opening your cupboards to allow additional heat to also get to your pipes.
If you’ve got a basement, it doesn’t hurt to put an additional heater down there to increase the temperature.
Boil order for Bellaire residents after massive water line break
According to Village Administrator Scott Porter, a 48 Hour Boil Advisory is in effect for anyone whose service was interrupted on the Rock Hill Pressure Zone.
The areas affected are down hill of the Rockhill tank.
Plus the follow: Taney, Wagner, part of Dorer, Mudd Road,Central Avenue, Trumbull and Clinton Streets.
Central Avenue remains closed to traffic so crews can clear ice that formed following that water break.
Boil Water Alert in effect in Venice
VENICE, Fla. (WFLA) — A Boil Water Alert has been issued in Venice.
City officials say there will be a water outage on Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2018 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the City of Venice.
The outage is due to the repair of a potable water main.
The areas affected will be: 509 W. Venice Ave. 512 W. Venice Ave. 520 W. Venice Ave. 521 W. Venice Ave. 524 W. Venice Ave.
The affected area will be required to boil water for consumption only (drinking, cooking) for 72 hours and until the boil water advisory has been rescinded, or use bottled water.
Boil water notices have been distributed and a Code Red phone notification issued.

(Clarinda) — A water main break has been repaired in Clarinda.
City Manager Gary McClarnon says the repaired main, which is located near the intersection of Logan Court and Eiler Lane, has caused a boil advisory to be issued for the eight residents on Logan Court.
The advisory is in effect until further notice.
The rest of the city is not affected by the boil advisory.

Eight households are being affected by the break.

Boil water advisory issued for the City of Spivey, Kingman County
TOPEKA, Kan. – The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) has issued a boil water advisory for the public water supply located in the City of Spivey in Kingman County.
KDHE officials issued the advisory because of a mechanical malfunction resulting in a loss of pressure in the system.
Customers should observe the following precautions until further notice: Boil water for one minute prior to drinking or food preparation, or use bottled water.
Dispose of ice cubes and do not use ice from a household automatic icemaker.
Disinfect dishes and other food contact surfaces by immersion for at least one minute in clean tap water that contains one teaspoon of unscented household bleach per gallon of water.
Water used for bathing does not generally need to be boiled.
Persons with cuts or severe rashes may wish to consult their physicians.

Two boil water advisories issued for Livingston Parish
LIVINGSTON-Two water systems in Livingston Parish are under boil water advisories after experiencing freeze-related problems overnight.
The Town of Livingston Water System is under a boil advisory as well as French Settlement Water Company.
The Livingston advisory was issued this morning.
It was reported that a well went down, but water is now back up and running.
Samples will be tested as a precautionary measure.
Due to holiday hours, water samples can’t be turned in until Tuesday.
It can take 48-72 hours to get water samples back.
French Settlement Water Company is experiencing lower pressure and discolored water in the Maurepas, Gunboat Island and Bear Island areas due to freeze related problems.
The boil water advisory there will remain in effect until the freeze and bacteriological samples can be collected.

TOPEKA, Kan. – The Kansas Department of Health and Environment has issued a boil water advisory for the City of Spivey in southern Kingman County.
KDHE officials issued the advisory on Monday because of a mechanical malfunction resulting in a loss of pressure in the city’s water system.
Failure to maintain adequate pressure may result in a loss of chlorine residuals and bacterial contamination.
Customers are advised to boil water for one minute prior to drinking or food preparation, disinfect dishes and other food contact surfaces by immersing in clean tap water that contains one teaspoon of unscented household bleach per gallon of water, and toss out any existing ice cubes.
Water used for bathing does not generally need to be boiled, but supervision of children is recommended so that water is not ingested.
KDHE officials say the advisory will remain in effect until conditions which place the system at risk of contamination are deemed to be adequately resolved.

WICHITA, Kan. A boil advisory is out for the town of Spivey in Kingman County.
There was a mechanical malfunction on January 1st that resulted in a loss of pressure in the system.
That can lead to loss of chlorine and bacteria in the water.
You should boil water for one minute prior to drinking or using to prepare food.
Also toss ice that comes from an automatic ice maker.
If your tap water appears dirty, flush it until it runs clear.
