All water in other areas of the city is considered safe to use.

Boil-water advisory issued

The South East Kelowna Irrigation District has issued a boil-water warning for all customers.
The advisory is due to a malfunction in the disinfection system at Hydraulic Creek, after heavy snow Tuesday night caused a power outage.
The O’Reilly Road well is also affected, and residents who use its water should also heed the advisory.
All affected residents should boil any water used for drinking, brushing teeth or washing food.
Owners of public facilities are required to post notices by public sinks and fountains.
The South East Kelowna District Irrigation District has not indicated when they expect the advisory to end.
They are flushing the system and will lift the notice when samples indicate the water is safe.

Boil water order lifted for Clayton Township, Gaines Township, Swartz Creek

GENESEE COUNTY, MI – The boil water advisory for Clayton Township, Gaines Township and the city of Swartz Creek has been lifted.
As of 3:50 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 20, the water in the Genesee County municipalities is once again safe to drink, according to a release from the Genesee County Drain Commissioner’s office.
Following multiple water main breaks, the advisory was issued on Monday, Dec. 18, advising residents to boil their water until further notice.
The breaks created a loss of water pressure, which sometimes leads to bacterial contamination within the system, officials said.
However, two consecutive rounds of 24-hour water testing show results within "normal established parameters for safe drinking water," the release said.
Both water main breaks took place Monday, Dec. 18 along Bristol Road near the Interstate 69 and Miller Road and were repaired by the evening of Tuesday, Dec. 19.
"Genesee County WWS appreciates the patience and understanding exhibited by the residents of these communities throughout the past three days," the release said.
"Drain Commissioner Jeff Wright would also like to thank all county employees who worked tirelessly around the clock, ensuring the continued safety of our water supply, and providing the quickest possible restoration of normal water use to all residents."
Those in Swartz Creek with additional questions about their water quality should contact Tom Svrcek at 810-635-4464 or 517-719-9051.
Clayton Township or Gaines Township residents should contact Mark Horgan or Jim Thompson at 810-732-7870.

7,000 PWSA Customers In East End Under Flush And Boil Advisory

A major water main break at Centre and South Negley avenues Sunday prompted the Pittsburgh Water and Sewer Authority to issue a flush and boil water advisory for eight East End neighborhoods.
*UPDATED: This post was updated at 11:48 a.m., Dec. 18.
In a release, PWSA officials said the advisory, affecting roughly 7,000 customers, was precautionary.
"[The break] caused low and no water pressure for customers in the central and eastern sections of the City of Pittsburgh," according to the release.
"The main break was isolated, and pressure was restored today.
PWSA is issuing a precautionary boil water advisory to a limited area because a decrease in pressure can allow contaminants to enter the drinking water."
The advisory is for water used for consumption.
A map of the impacted neighborhoods is also available.
Neighborhoods under a boil advisory include Bloomfield, Central Lawrenceville, East Liberty, Friendship, Garfield, Highland Park, Morningside and Shadyside.
East End residents affected by the flush and boil advisory can also get clean water from three water buffaloes throughout the city at: Shursave IGA Super Market at 4401 Liberty Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15224 CVS at 4610 Centre Avenue at North Craig Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15213 Fire Station 8 at 149 North Euclid Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15206 Another water main break in the Middle Hill has disrupted service for PWSA customers.

Damaged water main in Ward II Water District leads to water boil advisory

DENHAM SPRINGS – A water boil advisory for Ward II Water District customers along Arnold Road could be lifted as soon as Thursday, according to the water district’s general manager Barry LeJeune.
LeJeune said the water district is waiting for word from the state Department of Health on water samples sent late Tuesday.
The problem began when a contractor was boring near a water main and hit the main, LeJeune said, adding that in order to make repairs, water pressure had to be lowered in water lines in the area.
Under state health rules, if water pressure in a line goes below a certain point, water samples must be collected and sent to the state for testing.
A water boil advisory must also be issued.
“The water boil advisory is a precautionary measure,” LeJeune said.
The repairs were made Tuesday, and water samples were taken to the state health office in Amite, but it was too late for the lab to run tests, he said.
Approximately 50 customers of the Ward II Water District were affected, he said, from the Perkins Road intersection with Arnold Road to 3313 Perkins Road.
The contractor was conducting horizontal directional drilling and “got too close” to the water main, LeJeune said.
“They work in a servitude 10-feet wide, but there can be a lot of utility lines in there and it can get challenging,” LeJeune explained.

Pilot lifts ‘Boil water advisory’

PILOT MOUNTAIN — A boil water advisory placed on the town’s water supply following Monday’s water line break near East Surry High School has been lifted, according to town manager Michael Boaz.
“The town has received the results of the test of the water samples taken yesterday and they are all clear.
The boil water advisory has been lifted as of 10 a.m.,” said Boaz in an email Wednesday morning.
Repairs were completed about midnight Monday night.
Repairing the break which occurred earlier Monday required water to be turned off to take pressure off water tanks.
Doing this had the potential to pull water back into the system, Boaz said, though the possibility of polluting the water supply was highly unlikely.
A “boil water notice” was issued for the town’s water system when the water was turned back on.
Boaz said only one water tower was affected, but it would be complicated to determine which water customers were served by which tower, so the notice was issued for the entire system.
Testing required 24 hours, and the town received the all-clear Wednesday morning that boiling water was no longer necessary.
