"If you take medication, obviously, you need water for your medication.
Numerous communities in Lackawanna county are still under a boil advisory until further notice following a water main break in Dunmore.
Bielawski spent much of the weekend without running water at all.
He went to E Grant street by the fire house in Olyphant to get some but the water didn’t look so great.
"You could see as it settled, all this mud, silt at the bottom of the containers.
So, certainly not something I’d be looking to ingest in any manner."
The tanker on E Grant has clean running water now, but Bielawski says he’ll be sticking to bottled water for the remainder of the boil advisory – he’s gone through at least thirty-five since the initial disruption.
At least today, he has water for his shower and toilets.
"That would’ve kept up with, even if we had a big fire here in town, we could’ve hooked up one of our four-inch lines and had more than enough water to supply to any of the fire apparatus necessary to fight the fire in Olyphant," says Gerry Tully of Excelsior Hose Co.

Boil-Water Advisory Issued for Southwest Shirley.
The Suffolk County Water Authority has issued a boil-water advisory for the next 48 hours for southwest Shirley following a water main break on William Floyd Parkway and an extended shutdown of the water main serving this area.
Harmful microbes in drinking water can cause diarrhea, cramps, nausea, headaches, or other symptoms and may pose a special health risk for infants, some elderly, and people with severely compromised immune systems.
But these symptoms are not just caused by microbes in drinking water.
If any of these symptoms are experienced and they persist, medical advice should be sought.
Door-to-door notifications are being conducted in the area roughly south of Fawn Place and west of William Floyd Parkway, and also on a number of streets just to the east of William Floyd Parkway.
Water samples are being collected to ensure the safety of water supplied to the area as a precaution.
For more information, residents are advised to call the Suffolk County Water Authority Call Center at 631-698-9500.
The Suffolk County Water Authority is an independent public-benefit corporation operating under the authority of the Public Authorities Law of the State of New York.
Serving approximately 1.2 million Suffolk County residents, the Authority operates without taxing power on a not-for-profit basis.

by John McNeill, originally posted on December 30, 2016
KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM)– No sooner was the last boil water advisory lifted than another is being imposed in Kalamazoo as this rollercoaster weather has taken its toll on Kalamazoo’s aging water system.
Just a few hours after lifting the boil water alert on SunValley Drive in the Oakwood Neighborhood, they were imposing a new boil water alert on Mulhearn Avenue on the far eastern edge of the Metro Area.
This potential contamination is also being blamed on a water main break. It impacts homeowners on Mulhearn, Baker Drive, Upland Drive and the Sunnyside Apartments.
