Boil water advisory in Cushing, IA

A boil advisory is in effect for residents of Cushing tonight.

The city has issued a statement this morning saying a drinking water advisory has been issued due to a water main break.

Residents are asked to conserve water and it is recommended that all water used for drinking be boiled before consumed.

Authorities did deliver water to residents in Cushing today.

The City Council hope to have the ban lifted by Monday,

Bee Ridge water main break causes boil-water advisory

SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) – Repair crews worked overnight, Aug. 25, to put in a new pipe after a water main break caused major problems on Bee Ridge Road. Now, officials are reporting the lingering effects of the break.

The temporary water outage has caused the county to call for a precautionary boil-water advisory until at least Sunday morning, Aug. 28. The boil-water advisory has been issued for an adjacent senior living center, 40 neighbors and 20 business owners.

Timothy Richards, manager of Sarasota County’s Water and Wastewater Division, says the break occurred naturally.

“Due to the age of the pipe it just broke,” Richards said.

Shaftsbury water tests reveal minimal chemical contamination

Gov. Peter Shumlin says testing of drinking water wells near the closed Shaftsbury landfill in Vermont show minimal contamination from a potentially cancer causing chemical.

Of the 24 wells tested within a quarter mile of the landfill, 16 did not show any perfluorooctanoic acid, known as PFOA.

The Democratic Shumlin says eight wells had PFOA ranging from 4 to 16 parts per trillion, which is below Vermont’s health advisory level of 20 parts per trillion.

West Virginia American Water crews will be installing a new water main near the entrance of Glade Springs Resort Monday, which will temporarily impact water service to approximately 450 customers within the resort property. Work will begin at 8 a.m. and should be completed by noon. As a result, customers in the area may experience a temporary disruption in water service or experience low water pressure, and discolored water may be present immediately after water is restored. Once the installation of the new water main is complete, crews will be flushing hydrants in the area to remove any possible discoloration that may be generated. Customers will be notified of this work in advance through the company’s CodeRED emergency notification system.

Wilderness PSD has issued a boil water advisory for its customers on and off Runa Road due to a main line break.

Raleigh County PSD – Fitzpatrick has also issued an advisory for Pack Mountain.

Customers are advised to bring all water to a full rolling boil, let it boil for one minute and let cool before using, or use bottled water. Boiled or bottled water should be used for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, bathing, and food preparation until further notice. Boiling kills bacteria and other organisms in the water.

Boil Advisory Lifted for City of Otho in Webster County

OTHO – A boil advisory has been lifted for the city of Otho in Webster County after water samples indicate the water is safe to drink.

The boil advisory was issued on Aug. 10th when a drop in water pressure occurred during a power outage while maintenance work was being done on the water tower.

Some Thomaston residents placed under boil advisory

THOMASTON, Ga. — Some residents of the city of Thomaston have been placed under a boil water advisory following a water main leak.

According to a release from Victor Cozart, project manager for the City of Thomaston Water Department, water pressure in parts of the system have dropped to a dangerously low level because of the leak, causing a potential health hazard.

The areas that are affected by this problem are East and West Silverton, Mill Race Road, 2nd Avenue, 3rd Avenue to North and South Main and Peerless Road.

Citizens who have that have experienced water outages or low water pressure are advised to boil their water before using it for drinking, cooking or preparing baby food. The water should be boiled for at least one minute after reaching a rolling boil.

This advisory will be in place until further notice from drinking water utilities.

MONROE, La (News Release) – The Hebert Water System is experiencing problems with their water supply due to the recent road collapse on Highway 561.

This will impact the customers who live near the following locations:

It is recommended that all consumers disinfect their water before consuming it (including fountain drinks), making ice, brushing teeth, or using it for food preparation or rinsing of foods by the following means:

+ Boil water for (1) one full minute in a clean container. The one minute starts after the water has been brought to a rolling boil.

St. Landry Parish – In St. Landry Parish, a boil advisory has been issued for the Lewisburg Bellevue Water System.

The boil advisory is in effect immediately.

Redwater lifts boil advisory

Redwater, Texas – Redwater, Texas is no longer under a boil advisory.

Mayor Robert Lorance says he issued the boil advisory for a longer notice to make sure levels were consistent.

The city will implement new procedures and equipment to the system.

Precautionary Boil Water Advisory Lifted for 22nd Street/9th Avenue Area of Huntington

Huntington, W.Va.  (August 25, 2016) – West Virginia American Water has lifted the precautionary boil water advisory for Huntington customers along 8th, 9th, 10th, Artisan and Lincoln Avenues between 22nd Street and 26th Street, as well as parts of 22nd, 23rd, 24th, 25th and 26th Streets. The advisory was issued following Tuesday’s valve replacement project at the intersection of 22nd Street and 9th Avenue that caused a temporary disruption water service.

Results of water quality testing have confirmed that water quality meets drinking water standards. Therefore, there is no further need to boil water prior to consumption. Customers will be notified of the lifting of the advisory by the CodeRED phone notification system.
