Redwater under boil advisory
According to a notice posted by Redwater city officials customers should boil water prior to consumption.
According to the notice it is due to chlorine residuals being below the state required levels.
To ensure destruction of all harmful bacteria and other microbes, water for drinking, cooking, and making ice should be boiled and cooled prior to use. Water should be brought to a vigorous rolling boil and then boiled for two minutes.
City water officials are continuing to flush water lines in hopes of correcting the problem. Water pressure may be low at times due to continuous flushing.

Update: Boil advisory rescinded for Bossier Parish

The boil advisory was rescinded today after tests on water samples came back negative for contaminants.
Original story:
The City of Bossier City has issued a boil advisory for a portion of Bossier Parish that receives its water from the city.
The advisory is for all residents and businesses along Kingston Road from approximately Willow Chute Bayou to Airline Drive, including Kingston Elementary School, Shiloh Baptist Church, Kingston Crossing Apartments and the St. Charles Court Subdivision.
The advisory is being issued due to a drop in water pressure in the area and the subsequent loss of water service while utility department crews worked to repair a fire hydrant on Kingston Road which was struck and damaged by a motor vehicle this morning. Water service to the area has since been restored.
The advisory is a precautionary measure and recommends those in the affected area to boil their water for one minute before consuming it until the advisory is rescinded. The advisory pertains only to water used for consumption. Again, the advisory is a precautionary measure and not a boil order.
The city will notify the media when the advisory is rescinded.

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — People living near the area affected by the Erskine Fire have been advised to boil their water before use.
A boil water advisory has been issued for Cal Water customers in Squirrel Mountain, South Lake and Mountain Mesa.
The warning comes from the California Water Service and the State Water Resources Control Board’s Division of Drinking Water, who says to use bottled water or boiled tap water for drinking, preparing food and brushing teeth until further notice. Ice cubes made by refrigerators should be thrown away
The advisory, according to Cal Water, comes from the local loss of power and water pressure in the area.
“We apologize for the inconvenience it causes,” Cal Water Local Manager Chris Whitley said in a press release Friday. “We are issuing this as a precaution because protecting our customers’ health and safety with the drinking water supply is our highest priority.”
Cal Water says boiling water for one minute will kill bacteria and organisms in it. Tap water is safe for showering, bathing and other household uses.
