Southwest Detroit issued boil water advisory after main break

DETROIT — Water and Sewage Department customers between West Jefferson to the south, Vernor Highway to the north, Miller Road to the west, and Livernois to the east in southwest Detroit have been issued a boil advisory until further notice.
This comes after some reported losing water pressure following a water main break Wednesday morning, July 20, according to the city’s website. Customers in the area shown in the map above are advised to bring water to a boil for at least a minute and it allow it to cool before using it to drink, clean, shower, brush teeth, preparing food and giving to pets.
“The advisory is in effect until DWSD and the Great Lakes Water Authority have determined boiling water is no longer necessary,” the post on the city’s website reads. “Test sampling is currently being conducted and should be completed by Saturday morning, July 23.”

Boil advisory issued for Southern Monroe Water Authority customers

Due to a city of Bloomington water main break, Southern Monroe Water Authority has issued a precautionary boil advisory for customers in the following locations:
Archer Lane, Bailey Addition, Bolin Lane, Boruff Road, Brookshire Road, Church Lane, Cockrell Road, Dillman Road, East Lane, Empire Road, Farmers Drive, Farmers Field, Foxwood Estates, Glenview Drive, Mosswood Estates, Patricia Lane, Rockport Road, Rolling Glen, Shaw Road, Stansifer Lane, Sweetwater Lane, Victor Heights, Victor Pike, Watson Drive and Wynbrooke Addition. Customers from 5855 S. Old Ind. 37 to 6720 S. Old Ind. 37 also are included.
The boil advisory will be in place for 48 hours. Residents should boil all water intended for cooking or drinking for five minutes before use.
Boil water advisory for parts of City of Clemson

CLEMSON, SC (WSPA) – The City of Clemson advises the following residents of the City of Clemson, located in Pickens County, to vigorously boil their water for at least one (1) full minute prior to drinking or cooking.
Elm St.
Calhoun St.
Warbranch Rd.
Fern Circle
Residents should continue to vigorously boil their water for at least one (1) full minute prior to drinking or cooking until otherwise notified by the City of Clemson. Also, any ice made from water which has not been boiled should not be used for drinking purposes.
This advisory is being issued as a precaution only, due to low water pressure caused by the repair of a 6” main water line break caused by a directional boring contractor.
The City of Clemson is presently working to correct the problem.

Boil water advisory issued for Bomont

BOMONT, WV (WCHS/WVAH) — The Queen Shoals Public Service District water system in Clay County issued a precautionary boil water advisory Wednesday for a section of its coverage area due to a repair of the distribution system.
The advisory is effective immediately for the Bomont area, according to a news release from the water company.
Testing has not been confirmed, but there is a high probability that the water is contaminated.
Customers are advised not to drink the water without boiling it first for one minute and let it cool before using, or use bottled water. Boiled or bottled water should be used for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, bathing and food preparation until further notice.

Boil water advisory lifted for parts of SW Detroit

The boil water advisory issued earlier this week by the Detroit Water and Sewerage has been lifted for residents and businesses in parts of southwest Detroit.
The advisory in effect since Wednesday covered customers within the boundaries of West Jefferson, Vernor Highway, Miller Road and Livernois.
Two rounds of multiple samples taken and tested by the Great Lakes Water Authority show the water meets the Safe Drinking Water Act, resulting in lifting the advisory, the water authority said in a statement on Saturday
DWSD issued the advisory when low water pressure was reported by customers in the area due to a water transmission line break.
DWSD customers who experience outages, see running water or other water and sewer issues, can report them to the department at (313) 267-7401 or use the free Improve Detroit app for Apple and Android mobile devices.
Boil-water advisory issued for Ellis

ELLIS, Kan. (KAKE) – A state agency issued a “boil water” advisory for the City of Ellis in Ellis County Tuesday.
A statement from the Kansas Department of Health and Environment said there was a loss of water pressure, which could lead to bacteria contaminating the water. Hays Post reported water service was restored Tuesday afternoon.
The KDHE offered this guidance for people under the boil water advisory:
Boil water for one minute prior to drinking or food preparation, or use bottled water.
Dispose of ice cubes and do not use ice from a household automatic icemaker.
Disinfect dishes and other food contact surfaces by immersion for at least one minute in clean tap water that contains one teaspoon of unscented household bleach per gallon of water.
Water used for bathing does not generally need to be boiled. Supervision of children is necessary while bathing so that water is not ingested. Persons with cuts or severe rashes may wish to consult their physicians.
If your tap water appears dirty, flush the water lines by letting the water run until it clears.
Point Blue Water System issues boil advisory

VILLE PLATTE, La. (KLFY)– Point Blue Water System has issued a water boil advisory to customers who live in the Kennedy/Eugene subdivision.
A spokesperson with the company told KLFY that the water was shut off due to an unexpected break on a 3-inch main line.
Repairmen are present at the site and war working to get the line fixed.
Water may be shut off for an approximately two hours.
Boil Water Advisory For West Liberty

WEST LIBERTY, Ky. (LEX 18) – Due to repairs on a main line, there will be a boil water advisory in effect for West Liberty.
The announcement comes after repair work on the line on Highway 519 there is a boil water advisory for all West Liberty customers until further notice.

Boil water advisory issued for Ellis

TOPEKA, Kan. (KSNW) – The Kansas Department of Health and Environment has issued a boil water advisory for the City of Ellis public water supply located in Ellis County. KDHE officials issued the advisory because of a loss of pressure. Inadequate pressure may result in a loss of chlorine residuals and bacterial contamination.
The advisory took effect on July 19 and will remain in effect until conditions which place the system at risk of contamination are deemed by KDHE officials to be adequately resolved.
Customers should observe the following precautions until further notice:

Boil advisory issued for some Point Blue Water System customers

The Point Blue Water System issued a boil notice for residents in the Kennedy/Eugene subdivision on Tuesday.
The water was shut off due to an unexpected break in a three-inch main line. Crews are working on the line, but water may be off for about two hours.
Once water is restored, all residents in the subdivision will be under a boil advisory until further notice.
