City of Cleveland issues boil-water notice

City of Cleveland issues boil-water notice.
City of Cleveland water customers who live on the north side of town have been advised to boil their tap water until further notice.
City clerk Connie Tracas said a construction crew working on the bypass caused a water-main break on Wednesday, March 15, near the corner of U.S. 129 North and Hulsey Road.
The damaged line serves customers in a large area that runs from the historic downtown courthouse up U.S. 129 to Hulsey Road and on Ga. 75 northeast to Tom Bell Road.
Customers in the affected area (some of which is outside the Cleveland city limits) will experience a loss of water pressure and may have no water at all while the line is being repaired.
The low water pressure could cause a backflow that allows untreated water to get into individual lines.
This water could potentially be contaminated with bacteria, which is why customers should boil any water used for cooking or drinking.
(Alternatively, bottled water may be used.)
The boil-water advisory will remain in effect until the city receives water-quality test results from the Georgia Environmental Protection Division.
For more information, call the City of Cleveland, 706-865-2017.

Jackson Water Crisis: Water has been restored; affected areas under boil water advisory.
JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) – According to a tweet from Mayor Tony Yarber, all water has been restored to the City of Jackson.
The city of Jackson tweeted Saturday morning saying contractors worked over night on the water line repair, located on Forest Avenue.
Governor Bryant has prepared a State of Emergency, which has already been drafted, just in case repairs don’t go as planned.
MEMA says repairs should not last for more than 30 hours.
Public Works Director Jerriot Smash announced that a 48-inch transmission line concrete pipe is the major problem they are dealing with.
Smash also said that all 3 breaks running at the same time has strained the water system in Jackson.
Emergency Manager Deputy Chief Brandon Falcon said the fire department is well-prepared and they are used to moving water with previous water main breaks.
To accommodate the approximately 300 students who will be on campus over the weekend, Student Affairs will deliver bottled water to all residence halls, and portable toilets will be rented and placed throughout campus because of low-water pressure in restrooms.
City officials said that a "triangle area" will be affected by this outage.

The City of Asheville Water Resources Department has reported an emergency water interruption on/in North Louisiana Avenue from Hazel Mill Road to Emma Road.
This interruption of water requires issuance of a Boil Water Advisory.
Residents are encouraged to vigorously boil tap water for 1 minute before consuming it.

Customers are advised to run cold water for 5-10 minutes or until water is clear.
Properties in the affected areas are receiving notification via the COA automated system or door hangers.
