Boil water advisory lifted for Otisville

A boil water advisory has been canceled for Otisville after a drop in pressure.
The loss in pressure was due to a vehicle accident with a hydrant on Oct. 10.
The city said no coliform bacteria was found after testing the system’s water.

Boil water advisory issued for Spivey in Kingman County

Customers should observe the following precautions until further notice: If your tap water appears dirty, flush the water lines by letting the water run until it clears.
Boil water for one minute prior to drinking or food preparation or use bottled water.
Dispose of ice cubes and do not use ice from a household automatic icemaker.
Disinfect dishes and other food contact surfaces by immersion for at least one minute in clean tap water that contains one teaspoon of unscented household bleach per gallon of water.
Water used for bathing does not generally need to be boiled.
Supervision of children is necessary while bathing so that water is not ingested.
Persons with cuts or severe rashes may wish to consult their physicians.
The advisory took effect on October 10, 2018 and will remain in effect until the conditions that placed the system at risk of bacterial contamination are resolved.
Failure to maintain adequate pressure may result in a loss of chlorine residuals and bacterial contamination.

Martin Co. Turns Off Water County Wide Due To Issues

MARTIN COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) – An issue with water pressure and line blow-outs has caused Martin Co. Water District to shut off water to the entire county.
Viewer video sent to LEX 18 shows a large water main break under a rural roadway.
The county acknowledges an issue with water pressure that caused several main lines to “blow out.” “Although the issue we were having has now been resolved, it has caused several main lines to blow out.
We have had to turn the water off to the entire county.
We do apologize for this and are working to repair the leaks.
There will be a boil water advisory for the entire county when services are restored.
We will update as soon as we can,” reads a post on the Martin County Water District page.

Boil water advisory in Roseland back on after another water supply system leak

ROSELAND, La.
(LOCAL 33) (FOX 44) – Residents in the Town of Roseland may be experiencing low water pressure on Wednesday morning after another water supply system leak forced Mayor Wanda McCoy to reinstate the boil water advisory for the Town of Roseland until further notice.
The Town of Roseland released this statement about the boil water advisory: Due to experiencing another leak in the water supply system and town members experiencing low water pressure , as a precaution Mayor Wanda McCoy is issuing a boil water advisory effective immediately.
Until this order is rescinded by the Town of Roseland, all citizens are advised to boil water for at least 1 minute and allow the water to come to a rolling boil .
It is recommended to disinfect water before consuming water, brushing teeth and washing and using in food preparation.
The town will update citizens when the boil order will be lifted upon notification of the completion the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals, Office of Public Health’s investigations of the town’s water system.
The water will be deemed safe to use once it has been repaired and demonstrated the system to be safe and clear for the community by the State.
However , as of Tuesday , Oct. 9, 6:58 p.m. the boil order will remain in effect since the State has not notified the town of its suitability to use.
This boil order will remain in effect until further notice.

UPDATE: Water shut off in Martin County due to main line breaks

Martin County Water District most recently posted on their Facebook that they will be turning off water from 11 p.m. Tuesday to 4 a.m. Wednesday.
They posted that the water was turned back on just past 4 p.m. A boil water notice is in effect for about two to three days for the entire county until the water is determined to be safe.

He’s just one of thousands of people in Martin County, Kentucky whose water has been shut off after a main line burst, closing all schools and some local businesses.
Martin County is no stranger to water issues.
In September, a state of emergency was declared after water levels became dangerously low for the second time in less than a year.
"But like I said it’s going to take the state or a larger entity to come in and help us get caught up on our problem,” Carroll said.
Greg Scott from the Martin County Water District said water has been shut off to the entire county due to several main line breaks.
A leak detecting crew worked Monday night to find the exact spot for crews to dig Tuesday morning.
Crews from the Martin County Water District and the Kentucky Rural Water Association have been working to make repairs.

Many in Martin Co. take aim at water officials during heated meeting

PIGEON ROOST, Ky. (WYMT) – Because of the many water issues affecting thousands of people in Martin County, a townhall-style meeting was held in the Pigeon Roost community.
About fifty people showed up to the Pigeon Roost Community Center to ask questions to officials from the Martin County Water Board and the Martin County Water District.
Despite the flood of emotions including frustration and uncertainty, organizers hoped this meeting would help put people in the community at ease.
Let us have a voice and figure out what we want to do about this.

Some businesses closed while the water was out.
"We’ve got mutual aid agreements with other departments that if we run low on water or if we just need extra assistance, they’ll come", said Eric Jude, Chief of the Pigeon Roost Fire Department.
"My grandma is 90 years old and on a fixed income, cannot afford that rate increase.
"If we can get our service lines fixed, then the board has to make a decision on what is most feasible", said Kerr.
Kerr says water in Martin County will be shut off overnight Tuesday into Wednesday to make sure the water tanks have enough time to replenish.
