Residents of Longswamp community advised to boil water
Video LONGSWAMP TWP., Pa. – A boil water advisory is in effect for some in eastern Berks County.
Homes at Mountain Village in Longswamp Township have been affected by a well pump failure.
According to a state Department of Environmental Protection notice posted on the office door, a pump failed Tuesday and electricians have been called.
In the meantime, residents are being told to boil their water before drinking it.
They can also get water from a tank near the entrance to the community.
"We gotta come down here to the water truck to get water, but this is not the first time this has happened," said resident James Ward.
"This is — it’s crazy."
Some residents of the nearby Hereford Estates in Hereford Township are also complaining of water problems.
Our calls for comment from management have not been returned.

According to officials, this advisory is for a water main break in the area.

UPDATE: Cambria, Lumberport added to boil water advisory
HAYWOOD, W. Va. (WDTV) — UPDATE 9/12/18 11:55AM Officials say Cambria and Lumberport have been added to the advisory.
The Lumberport Water Plant has issued a boil water advisory for the community of Haywood.
This is due to a main line break in the river.
Crews are working to repair the break.
There’s no word on how long this may take.
Boil-water advisory issued for Glenville
GLENVILLE – Schenectady County is urging residents in part of the town to boil water before drinking it or using it in cooking to avoid potential contamination from a broken water main.
The boil water advisory is in effect in the following parts of the town: • Sacandaga Road from Van Voast Lane to North Road • Van Voast Lane • Snake Hill Road • Closson Road • Bolt Road • Church Road • North Road • Rector Road • Ridge Road • Maura Lane It was not immediately clear where the pipe broke or how long it will take to fix it.
Pamplico repeals boil water advisory
PAMPLICO, SC (WMBF) – The town of Pamplico has repealed a boil water advisory as samples collected Wednesday show the water is safe for cooking and drinking, according to a news release.

Some Lawtell residents under boil water advisory due to main water line break
A boil advisory has been issued for customers of the Lawtell Water District following a water main break Wednesday afternoon.
Residents who live on the following streets are under a bowl water advisory until further notice: U.S. 190 east, Wisdom St. , North 6th St. , South 6th St. , Boudreaux St., Debleaux St., Lee St., Blake St., Gerard Street., Boone Street and Charles Burr Lane.
Boil water advisory issued for customers of Schoolcraft system
Schoolcraft officials issued a boil water advisory Wednesday, after the village’s water supply experienced a pressure loss.
The village manager said the water pressure dropped while an outside contractor was doing work on the system.
The boil water advisory is a precautionary measure, due to concerns over contamination.
It will be lifted once test results come back negative.
That’s expected to happen within the next 24 hours.

Gans Road water main break leads to boil advisory through Thursday
A boil advisory was issued Tuesday afternoon for parts of southeast Columbia, according to a news release from Consolidated Water Supply District No.
1.
It will be in effect until noon Thursday.
The advisory was issued after a water main break on Gans Road.
Consolidated Water customers in the area between Providence Road and Gans Creek Road, including those along Gans, Bearfield and Rock Quarry roads, as well as Highway 163 South, are included in the advisory.
Water that will be used for drinking, food preparation or used for consumption in any way should be boiled, according to the release.
Water used for hand-washing and bathing does not usually need to be boiled.

Village of Schoolcraft issues boil water advisory
SCHOOLCRAFT, Mich. — For the next 24 hours residents in the Village of Schoolcraft are advised to boil their water after the water distribution system loss water pressure.
According to officials, an outside contractor shut off the water valve which resulted in the loss of pressure for a period of time.
Although the water pressure has been restored, officials took samples to test for bacteria in the water.
It takes up to 24 hours for those tests to come back but according to officials they hope to have the problem fully resolved by then.
Residents are advised to only used boiled or bottled water for drinking, preparing food, brushing teeth, making ice and washing dishes.
