Boil advisory issued for South Bossier Water System

All members of the South Bossier Water System will need to boil their water for at least a minute after another water boil advisory was issued.
The advisory goes into effect immediately.
It comes after the water system was shut down for a repair.
The advisory is until further notice.
This is the latest in several boil advisories issued in northwest Louisiana.
Earlier this month, KSLA News 12 Chief Investigative Reporter Stacey Cameron found that of the 412 boil advisories issued by public water systems in more than a year in an eight-parish region, Bossier Parish had the highest frequency of boil advisories.

Boil water advisory issued for portions of Carroll Township, Monongahela after water main break

MONONGAHELA, Pa. — Pennsylvania American Water issued a precautionary boil water advisory for customers in portions of Carroll Township and the city of Monongahela following a water main break Monday.
Officials said approximately 1,300 customers are affected.
Many homes and businesses were left without water Monday morning, following a water main break on Main Street in Monongahela.
The city’s police chief says many of the 5,000 residents and businesses saw a disruption in service.
Main Street, which is also Route 88, was shut down for a portion of the day, with one lane opening after 2 p.m. Pennsylvania American Water says the break occurred in a 12-inch line, but service was restored Monday evening.
This notice applies to City of Monongahela customers located east of the Sheetz Convenience Store on East Main Street and Carroll Township customers south of the Monongahela Cemetery.
Specifically customers located in the following areas: Eldora Hickory Hill Area Black Diamond Grandview Wickerham Manner Carroll Plan Sacred Heart Click here for a map of the affected areas.

Mount Gilead water leak repaired; boil advisory issued

MOUNT GILEAD — The village had a major water leak Monday and parts of it are under a boil advisory as of early Tuesday, according to Mayor Mike Porter.
“Water pressure is weak.
We are aware of it and are working doing our best to get it fixed,” Porter said shortly before 8 p.m. Monday.
“The issue was discovered this afternoon,” Porter said.
It was repaired around 4:30 a.m. Tuesday and a boil alert issued “for the high-pressure district” side of the village.
This area consists of everything east and north of Iberia Street, but not Iberia Street; north of West North Street to Main Street including East Marion and East streets.
Downtown Mount Gilead is not affected, as it is on the “low-district side.” There are still some isolated areas without water as of this afternoon.
Everyone who received a notice in October is affected by this boil advisory, the village said.

Water boil advisory issued for North Main Street, East Bigelow Avenue

A water boil advisory has been issued for addresses along North Main Street and East Bigelow Avenue by the City of Findlay Water Distribution Department.
The addresses affected are: 2801 N. Main St.
The 100 and 200 blocks of East Bigelow Avenue Repair work on an East Bigelow Avenue water main is cited as the reason for the advisory.
Affected customers should boil all water used for drinking, cooking or oral hygiene for at least one minute, or use bottled water instead.

Boil advisory for parts of Oretta and Singer

Beauregard Parish Waterworks District No.
2 is issuing boil advisories due to a water main break: 9252 Hwy 27 (Water office) to Ben Elston Road and all intersecting roads North of 9252 Hwy 27 in the Singer area.
Broadway Street and all intersecting roads north of Broadway Sreet in the Oretta community.
The Waterworks District No.
2 will lift this boil advisory upon notification from the LA Department of Health and Hospital-Office of Public Health that additional water samples collected from the water supply system show the water is safe.

Boil water advisory for parts of Milledgeville

Milledgeville — Some people living in the City of Milledgeville are under a boil water advisory.
According to an alert from Georgia College, the advisory comes after a water line break on Blandy Road in Milledgeville.
Residents of Allen Wood Subdivision, West Campus Drive, Magnolia apartments and anyone living on Georgia Highway 49 that are city water customers.
The school says all water should be boiled before drinking, cooking or preparing food.
The water should be boiled for at least one minute after reaching a rolling boil.
Everyone affected is asked to continue boiling their water until they are notified by the city that the water system has been restored to full operation and that the water is safe.
Again, the boil water advisory is only for the areas affected by the water disruption.

Pa. American Water issues boil-water advisory for customers in Carroll Township, Monongahela

Pennsylvania American Water Tuesday issued a precautionary boil-water advisory for approximately 1,300 customers in portions of Carroll Township and Monongahela in Washington County.
+4 A loss of water pressure at a storage tank in Carroll Township following a water main break Monday resulted in the advisory.
The company said a loss of water pressure could allow contamination to enter the distribution system, increasing the chance the water might contain disease-causing organisms.
The advisory applies to Monongahela customers east of the Sheetz store on East Main Street and Carroll Township customers south of Monongahela Cemetery.
Water officials said customers in these specific areas are affected: Eldora Victory Hill Black Diamond Grandview Wickerham Manor Carroll Plan Sacred Heart Customers in these areas should not drink water without boiling it first and bring all water to a rolling boil for one minute and let cool before using.
The company also installed water tankers at a Giant Eagle at 1300 Country Club Road, Carroll Township, and Carroll Township Volunteer Fire Department at 988 Route 837.
People should bring their own containers to collect water at those locations, Pennsylvania American spokesman Gary Lobaugh said.
The company expects the advisory to be lifted Thursday if it meets testing guidelines set by the state Department of Environmental Protection.
He said the storage tank and distribution system are expected to reach adequate levels Tuesday night.

Areas impacted by the advisory include: Buice Lane Orchard Hill Road Dry Valley Road Orchard Hill to Mahan Road from Dry Valley Road to Trion-Teloga Road Rocky Hollow Road from Orchard Hill to Mahan Road Areas in between these roads The advisory was issued after a water pump malfunctioned causing water pressure to drop in these areas.
"After a minimum of 48 hours of the system being back to full pressure and bacteria analysis completed, we will notify when the boil water advisory is lifted," a city spokesperson said.

The water boil advisory is effective immediately.
The advisory has been issued after the system was shut down for a repairand will be in effect until further notice.
It is recommended that all consumers disinfect their water before consuming it by boiling it for at least 1 full minute.
Water used in fountain drinks, ice, teeth brushing, and in food preparation should all be boiled.

Breaking: City crews finish repair; boil advisory still in effect

Almost immediately after the break was announced by Milledgeville City Manager Barry Jarrett to reporters and others attending a city council work session, a boil water advisory was issued for city water customers in the western portion of the city.
The boil water advisory is for city water customers who live in the areas of Georgia College’s West Campus, the Allenwood subdivision, Magnolia Park Apartments, and residents who live along Georgia Highway 49 who receive their water from the city.
City officials are anticipating the advisory to remain in effect for two days.
Kevin Veal, city water and sewer maintenance superintendent, said the break happened about 4:55 p.m. and that it only took about 30 minutes for workers to learn the location.
It was located on Blandy Road, directly behind Georgia College’s West Campus.
The break was somewhat easy to find as it turned out, because water was shooting a good ways into the air, along the shoulder of the road in a wooded area directly across from the turnoff of Blandy Road to access Georgia College’s West Campus.
A pump was used to extract water from a hole that was dug so workers could begin the process of repairing the broken water main line.
Shortly before 8 p.m. workers had made the necessary repairs on the water main break, Veal said.
He added he could not pinpoint what might have caused the water main break.
