Daviess County Under State Of Emergency

DAVIESS COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18)– Daviess County is under a state of emergency due to two water main breaks.
They happened Monday morning at an old utility plant.
The state of emergency was declared around 10:30 a.m. Monday.
Officials with East Daviess County Water say all customers in Daviess, Hancock, and Ohio counties are under a boil advisory.
Water service is expected to return to normal Tuesday, but the advisory will remain in effect until further notice.
Customers are also asked to conserve water.

Summerland on boil water advisory

The entire District of Summerland is on a boil-water notice.
The notice was issued Tuesday as the result of an unexpected issue at the water treatment plant.
Officials don’t specify the exact cause or extent of the failure.
They’re recommending that all water users bring their water to a boil for at least one minute before consumption or use an alternate source of water.
That includes food preparation, teeth brushing and any consumption of water.
The district said residents will be notified when the boil notice has been lifted but don’t offer a time frame on when that might happen.

***UPDATE*** HARTFORD, Ky. (7/10/18 – 12:20 p.m.) — The boil advisory for Ohio County Water District has now been lifted.
The advisory affected the northeastern part of the county.

According to health officials, people living in and around Tres Valles West should boil their water as a safety precaution.
Boiling the water will kill disease-causing organisms.
It is recommended to boil the water for two minutes and then let the water cool for at least 30 minutes.

Boil water alert issued in Rochester Hills

Residents in northwest Rochester Hills and a small part of southwest Oakland Township are under a boil water alert, the city announced Monday morning.
At about 7:30 a.m., the city of Rochester Hills posted the alert on its Facebook page, saying, “Effective immediately, a water boil alert for the area north of Tienken & west of Livernois.
These precautionary actions are being taken due to the loss of water pressure in the water.” People should boil tap water before drinking it.
It is not yet known how long until this alert will be lifted.
“This boil water notice shall remain in effect until results from the sampling verify the water is safe to drink,” the city said.

Cumberland issues boil water advisory

CUMBERLAND, Ind.
(WISH) – The town of Cumberland has issued a boil water advisory for Gem Water customers until further notice.
Water should be brought to a rolling boil for at least three minutes before using for drinking or cooking.
Water is OK for bathing, washing and other common uses.
This is a precautionary advisory and is being issued in accordance with Indiana regulations.
Anytime water pressure drops below 20 pounds per square inch in the system, a boil advisory must be issued to protect customers as a precautionary.
The boil water advisory, issued at 9 p.m. Monday, was expected to last no more than 36 to 48 hours.
The town of about 5,000 people straddles the border of Marion and Hancock counties.

Cumberland issues water boil advisory after pump left on

CUMBERLAND, Ind.
– The Town of Cumberland has issued a boil water advisory for Gem Water customers until further notice.

On Monday night, the town added additional details on its Facebook page: “All Gem Water users are under a BOIL ADVISORY.
Unfortunately, a pump was left on today due to human error and this has caused the water issues.
The issues has been remedied but users are advised to boil water before use.” This is a precautionary advisory and is being issued in accordance with Indiana regulations.
The town expects the advisory to be lifted within 48 hours.

Boil advisory issued for portion of Sullivan County

A precautionary boil advisory has been issued for some customers of the Sullivan County Public Water Supply District Number One.
The announcement is due to a water main break which is affecting rural water customers on Creek Drive between Route E and Delta Drive.
This also includes customers on Collins Drive.
The boil advisory continues until further notice.
The water district office at Milan this morning, lifted a precautionary boil advisory issued July 3rd for rural customers on the east side of Route Double O, which included the area north and south of Oxford Road, including Oxford Road.
