Chariton Hy-Vee handing out free water after boil advisory
CHARITON – The local Chariton Hy-Vee is stepping up to help residents affected by the latest boil advisory in the city.
Friday, January 4, the Chariton Hy-Vee will be handing out free 24-packs of water to residents affected by the boil advisory in their city.
The free packs will be available between 10 AM and 4 PM Friday.
The boil advisory was issued Thursday when the Chariton Water supply had a problem with its distribution system, resulting in the system losing pressure.
With the potential for bacterial contamination, the Chariton Municipal Water Supply is recommending that water be boiled before use for drinking or cooking or that alternative sources be used.
