The City of Corner Brook has issued a precautionary boil water advisory for one part of the city and announced a water outage for another section.

The boil water advisory is in effect for Willow Avenue, Lomond Street and 154-179 East Valley Road in the Townsite area, which was affected by a water outage to repair the water distribution system earlier this week.

Due to the time required for testing to confirm water quality in the systems, the boil water advisory is expected to remain in effect until further notice.

The water outage is in effect today and affects a small section of Humbermouth. The properties impacted include #’s 4,8,10 and 12 Third Avenue 10 Keough’s Lane, 196 Humber Road and 190 Tipple’s Lane.

The water outage is expected to last between six and eight hours.

In conjunction with the repairs, Third Avenue will be closed to through traffic.
