Gatineau issues boil water advisory after broken water main
The City of Gatineau has issued a preventative boil water advisory following a water main break on Friday morning, affecting nearly 12,000 households.
The advisory was issued for the areas east of Montée Paiement; west of Cheval-Blanc Avenue; south of the La Vérendrye Boulevard; and north of the Ottawa River.

The city is urging residents to continue boiling water until the advisory is lifted.
The city said that people affected by water interruptions may go to the Centre Sportif de Gatineau at 850 Boulevard de La Gappe where 1.5 litres of bottled water are available per person for consumption.
Residents can also go to the loading dock to obtain water for their toilets.
The city asks residents outside of the affected area who have access to tap water to limit their water usage.
