Hornbrook Water Still Not Drinkable

HORNBROOK, Calif. — Hornbrook residents are frustrated about still not having potable water.
They have been dealing with water problems since July 5th when the Klamathon Fire destroyed the main water tank and several water system components.
Officials say it’s okay to use the water for showering and similar uses, but not for drinking.
A boil advisory is in effect.
Sharon Morin works at the Chevron that was somehow spared from the worst of the Klamathon.
She says the water issue has affected the bottom line.
"We’re losing business," explains Sharon.
"Because our coffee pot takes me 20 minutes to make a pot of coffee.
It’s an old percolator.
The Hornbrook Community Services District says a long term solution will cost about $1 million dollars.
