LYKENS, Pa — (WHTM) Lykens Borough officials said a water main break has led to a depletion of the water reserves and are asking all service customers to boil their water until further notice. Officials believed the boil water advisory may be in effect until next Thursday.

Crews are working to repair a 10-foot water line pipe in a wooded area after officials noticed the break Saturday. Customers who use the Wiconisco water tank are asked to boil their water for at least two minutes before consuming.

The Borough Secretary said due to repairs and subsequent water tests, officials believe it may be Wednesday or Thursday until the advisory is lifted.
