Paola’s boil water advisory has been lifted
PAOLA — The city of Paola’s boil water advisory that was issued Sunday, Jan. 27, following a water pipe break was lifted shortly before 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29.
City officials confirmed Tuesday morning that water samples that were sent to the Kansas Department of Health & Environment have come back clean.
The break was in a Marais des Cygnes Public Utility Authority (PUA) 16-inch line near the intersection of Baptiste Drive and 311th Street, and it resulted in loss of pressure at the city’s main water tower.
PUA water lines deliver treated water to the cities of Paola and Louisburg from the water plant located on the northwest corner of 343rd Street and Victory Road near the Marais des Cygnes River.
Crews quickly began working to repair the line Sunday, and they finished up Monday afternoon.
The city used the interconnection with Miami County Rural Water District No.
2 to regain pressure.
