Precautionary boil-water advisory issued for New Orleans East areas

New Orleans East residents are under a precautionary boil-water advisory because of water pressure that dropped for several areas Wednesday, officials said.
Officials said the advisory is due to Pumping Station No 10 in New Orleans East losing pressure, which remained under the accepted levels for 15 minutes.
Residents in the affected area are advised to not drink tap water or make ice with it until further notice.
People with compromised immune systems should not wash their hands or shower until the advisory is lifted.
Use caution when bathing infants and children.
Do not consume water or make ice with tap water.
Residents with immune systems that are compromised should take precautions.
Only New Orleans East residents are affected.
