Precautionary Boil Water Advisory Lifted for 22nd Street/9th Avenue Area of Huntington

Huntington, W.Va.  (August 25, 2016) – West Virginia American Water has lifted the precautionary boil water advisory for Huntington customers along 8th, 9th, 10th, Artisan and Lincoln Avenues between 22nd Street and 26th Street, as well as parts of 22nd, 23rd, 24th, 25th and 26th Streets. The advisory was issued following Tuesday’s valve replacement project at the intersection of 22nd Street and 9th Avenue that caused a temporary disruption water service.

Results of water quality testing have confirmed that water quality meets drinking water standards. Therefore, there is no further need to boil water prior to consumption. Customers will be notified of the lifting of the advisory by the CodeRED phone notification system.
