originally posted on December 2, 2016

The boil water advisory has now been moved to around 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 3. That’s when crews will interrupt water service to make repairs. Town leaders ask that on Saturday, you boil your water as a precaution until further notice.

The boil water advisory has been moved to Saturday due to the inconvenience it would cause to schools. It will impact the following areas:

Columbia Ave, Shady Dr., Oak St, and Cox St.

You’ll need to bring tap water to a rolling boil for at least three minutes or use bottled water until further notice.

Boil water for the following:

  • Drinking
  • Cooking
  • Bathing
  • Brushing Teeth
  • Making Ice
  • Preparing Infant Formula and Juices
  • Washing Fruit, Vegetables, and other Food Items
  • Cleaning Dishes

The water main break is in the area of Columbia Avenue in Ramseur.

The town will notify customers when there’s no further need to boil water as a precaution. If you need more information call 336-824-8530.
