TOLEDO, Oh. (WNWO) — A number of residents and businesses in west Toledo have been placed under a water boil advisory through at least Friday due to three water main breaks within the city.

The City of Toledo Water Distribution Division is working to repair three water main breaks that occurred from a spike in water pressure at Secor Road just south of Central Avenue, Secor just north of Dorr Street, and Eleanor Avenue east of Jackman Road.

After repairs to the water mains are made, water will be turned back on; however, water must then be tested for a period of time. During that time, all water used for consumption must first be boiled. Residents are advised to bring water to a boil, let it boil for at least three minutes, then let it cool before use.

Affected residents and businesses that will remain under a water boil advisory until Friday, May 27 at 5 p.m. include those along:
Valleston Parkway from Secor to Glenway Road, including Marthal Road, Cherry Valley Road, and Glenway Road
Eleanor Avenue from Jackman to Belmar Avenue, and including 4504 Jackman

Affected residents and businesses that will remain under a water boil advisory until Saturday, May 28 at 5 p.m. include those along:
Spielbusch Avenue from State Street to Cherry Street
Secor from Central to Hughes Drive

Water should be boiled for drinking, ice-making, brushing teeth, washing dishes, and for all food preparation.
