UPDATE: Elberfeld Boil Advisory Lifted

UPDATE: Warrick County has lifted the boil advisory issued last week.

The advisory was the result of a water main break.

Officials say that water samples have revealed no evidence of contamination within the system, and it is safe for residents to use their water again normally, without having to boil it for five minutes.

PREVIOUS STORY:

Some customers of the Elberfeld Water System are under a precautionary boil advisory.

The affected customers include those on Second St. from North St. to Dassel Dr. Dassel Dr., Beck Rd., Kost Lane, Julian St., Brown St. west of Fourth St., North St. and First St. north from Elm St. are also included.

This is due to a ruptured water main.

Contamination is unlikely. Customers are urged to bring all water for consumption purposes to a rolling boil for five minutes before use.

The advisory is in effect until further notice.
