Water alert lifted, but problems persist

"Thank you to everyone who helped getting the water and getting it out to the residents," said supervisors Chairman Joe Landis — a Sunshine Hill resident — at the meeting’s beginning.
Holman confirmed the boil water advisory had been lifted and said the authority continues to work on Sunshine Hill issues, but didn’t offer additional information at the meeting.
State law calls for a hearing on the matter once 5 percent of a borough’s registered voters sign a petition.
Because Hoak had appointed Shalonis as a deputy coroner following the latter’s retirement, Shalonis became the acting coroner when Hoak resigned in protest.
Shalonis appointed Hoak as chief deputy coroner on Sept. 12.
The commissioners accepted Hoak’s appointment as acting coroner and Shalonis as chief deputy, both effective Sept. 19.
"There are some people in the EMS who don’t like Mr. Hoak," Shalonis said.
