STATESVILLE, NC — A boil advisory has been issued for water customers in Stateville following a major water line break.

Officials say repairs are underway after a major water line break caused most water customers to lose service. While repairs are being made the Division of Water Resources has issued a boil advisory for customers until service is fully restored. The advisory will be in place for at least 24 hours.

Customers should boil ALL WATER that is used for human consumption or use bottled water. Officials say boiling the water vigorously for one minute should kill any disease-causing organisms or bacteria that may be present.
