Some Ocean Isle Beach residents are under a boil water advisory Monday.
The town said in a Facebook post the boil water advisory is in effect for those west of the water tower due to a water main break on the west end of the island.
A loss of pressure has occurred due to the water main break and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommend bringing water to a rolling boil for one minute before it is consumed.
Once the water main is repaired and pressure is restored, samples will be taken and town staff will update the public.
