Water main break causes boil advisory
DES MOINES – This is what fourth street looked like earlier this weekend.
Water flooded into areas along the street like Bernardo’s and the Copper Cup.
Vendors were struggling to salvage what they could.
"It was pretty chaotic, there were people running everywhere."
"At first i was a little shocked, I mean normally that would happen in a rural area of Iowa, so to happen downtown Des Moines it’s definitely different," said Rosen, who lives on 4th st. it may be an inconvenience, but Rosen said he is fine with that.
"But I am glad they are taking precautions and keeping our safety in mind rather than risking someone getting sick or going to the hospital," said Rosen.
Moving forward Rosen can’t help but wonder how the businesses will hold up.
"Java Joe’s it is right outside their build, so I can only imagine what they are going to go through," said Rosen.
But, he’s grateful the situation wasn’t worse.
"Honestly i thought it was going to be a lot bigger and spread the whole road and not just one hole," said Rosen.
