Water main break wreaks havoc in Oakland County
Communities affected are: Bloomfield Township, Commerce, Farmington Hills north of I-696, Keego Harbor, Orchard Lake, Novi, Novi Township, Wixom, Walled Lake and West Bloomfield.
"Due to a water main break at 14 Mile and Drake Roads, Henry Ford West Bloomfield Hospital has no water service," the hospital said in a statement.
Schools closed All schools in the West Bloomfield, Bloomfield Hills, Walled Lake and Novi districts were closed Tuesday.
Farmington School officials announced Tuesday that classes are canceled at those schools for today as well.
Nine schools in Rochester Community Schools are affected, but the district didn’t cancel them.
Schools can operate with low water pressure as long as drinking fountains are covered, toilets are working and required food service isn’t compromised.
