Water service cut, boil water advisory issued for thousands on North Hutchinson Island

ST. LUCIE COUNTY — After a contractor cut a main water line Wednesday morning, crews shut off the water and issued a boil water notice for North Hutchinson Island.
All 3,668 St. Lucie County Utility customers on North Hutchinson Island are under a boil water notice.

Crews are working on repairs and expect to resume water service by 5 p.m. After water is restored, all residents will be under a 72-hour precautionary, boil water advisory for any water used for drinking or cooking.
A rolling boil of one minute is sufficient.
